CTO Co-founder Position @ Ixaria
Own the technical direction of our platform as we build a product intelligence layer for furniture e-commerce.
A builder's role, not a spectator's
Ixaria is looking for a CTO (with the potential to become a co-founder) to own the technical direction of our platform as we build a product intelligence layer for furniture e-commerce.
- This role is for someone who is super passionate about building tech products and obsessed with creating ones that are used and really add value to their customers.
- This role is for someone who has always wanted to own their own business & build a tech startup with a global & scalable product used by millions of people.
About Ixaria
Ixaria is building a product intelligence system for furniture manufacturers.
Ixaria helps furniture manufacturers centralize product and component data, understand how customers interact with their websites, and render better product pages based on customer behavior, needs, buying stage, and context.
We are not building a standard webshop, a simple product configurator, or a collection of client-specific projects. We are building a scalable platform that integrates with existing e-commerce systems and combines structured product data, behavioral intelligence, and AI-assisted capabilities.
We are a small core team, so this role has a major impact. The person joining Ixaria will help define how the platform is built, how AI becomes part of the product, how the technical team grows, and ultimately what the company becomes.
What you will do
You will be responsible for the architecture, development, and technical evolution of the Ixaria platform. This includes:
- Owning the overall technical architecture and development strategy
- Building and improving integrations with Shopify, WooCommerce, and other e-commerce platforms
- Developing plugins, applications, APIs, and integration layers for existing webshops
- Working across backend systems, frontend applications, databases, infrastructure, and third-party services
- Designing the systems used to collect, validate, store, and retrieve structured product and component data
- Building the technical foundation for adaptive product page experiences
- Developing the event and data infrastructure required to understand customer journeys and website behavior
- Ensuring that client implementations become reusable platform capabilities rather than one-off custom solutions
- Establishing standards for scalability, performance, security, testing, and maintainable development
- Working closely with product, design, analytics, and commercial leadership
- Helping define the technical team and development processes as Ixaria grows
AI and LLM responsibility
AI and LLM-based capabilities will be an important part of Ixaria's technical direction.
You will be responsible for defining how these technologies are integrated into the platform in a reliable, controlled, and commercially useful way. This may include:
- Building AI-assisted workflows for structuring, classifying, enriching, and validating product data
- Using LLMs to identify missing product information and generate suggested customer-facing explanations
- Developing retrieval systems that allow AI models to answer questions using approved product and component data
- Contributing to the development of an AI product assistant for complex furniture products
- Using behavioral and product data to support customer segmentation and product page adaptation
- Evaluating when to use third-party models, hosted services, retrieval-augmented generation, or internally controlled systems
- Designing validation, approval, monitoring, and fallback mechanisms for AI-generated outputs
- Preventing hallucinations and ensuring that sensitive claims remain grounded in manufacturer-approved information
- Managing model costs, latency, reliability, data privacy, and observability
- Turning AI prototypes into dependable product capabilities
We are not looking for someone who simply adds a chatbot to the platform. We need someone who understands how AI systems should interact with structured data, business rules, user behavior, and human approval processes.
What we are looking for
We are looking for someone with strong technical judgment, broad full-stack experience, and the ability to think like a product builder.
Experience with WebGL, Three.js, 3D product visualization, or product configurators is valuable, but not mandatory. We do not require someone who trains foundation models from scratch. We need someone who knows how to design, evaluate, and operate dependable AI-enabled product features.
The most important quality
The most important quality we are looking for is entrepreneurial spirit.
We need someone who does not wait for a complete specification before taking responsibility. Someone who can understand the business problem, challenge assumptions, propose solutions, and help decide what the product should become.
You should be able to look at a client request and ask:
This is a leadership role with direct influence over both the technology and the company's direction.
You are a good fit if
- You want to build and shape a product, not only complete development tasks
- You can move comfortably between architecture, implementation, and business discussions
- You understand the difference between an AI demonstration and a reliable AI product
- You care about clean architecture without being blocked by perfection
- You know how to balance speed, technical debt, and long-term scalability
- You can communicate technical decisions clearly to non-technical colleagues
- You are comfortable working with ambiguity and incomplete information
- You want substantial ownership in an early-stage company
- You are interested in e-commerce, product intelligence, behavioral data, and AI
